At Brain Mind Wellness, we’re dedicated to staying at the top of innovative, evidence-based approaches to mental health care. That’s why we’re excited to announce a new offering starting this July: Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).
This groundbreaking therapy joins our established services – including talk therapy, somatic approaches, and neurofeedback – to provide a more complete, personalized path to healing.
What Is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy combines the use of a low dose of ketamine (administered in a safe, clinical setting) with guided psychotherapy. The goal is to use ketamine’s unique effects on the brain to help clients explore thoughts and emotions in new and often transformative ways.
While ketamine has been used safely in medical settings for a long time, recent research has shown that in low doses, it can be highly effective for mental health conditions such as:
- Depression (including treatment-resistant depression)
- PTSD
- Anxiety
- Chronic stress and emotional dysregulation
The ketamine experience can create a period of enhanced neuroplasticity, which is a state where the brain becomes more flexible and open to change. When paired with skilled psychotherapy, this state can support deep emotional insight, trauma processing, and the restructuring of harmful thought patterns.
How KAP Complements Our Existing Services
What makes KAP at Brain Mind Wellness unique is how we integrate it with the rest of your brain-based care. Here’s how it works with our other offerings:
Therapy
We are here to help you explore and integrate the insights that arise during KAP sessions. Whether you’re working through trauma, anxiety, or major life transitions, traditional talk therapy remains an essential part of grounding and growth. Ketamine can help accelerate that process by accessing deeper layers of the subconscious.
Neurofeedback
KAP and neurofeedback are a powerful combination. While ketamine helps open neural pathways and create new connections, neurofeedback can reinforce those changes by training your brain toward more balanced, resilient states. Neurofeedback after KAP can help to “lock in” the emotional and cognitive shifts experienced.
All together, these therapies work together to support lasting healing effects.
Is KAP Right for You?
If you’ve tried other forms of therapy without the results you hoped for or if you’re feeling stuck in persistent patterns, KAP may be the best next step. It’s not a one-size-fits-all solution, and we take time to ensure that it’s the right fit for your unique mental health needs. We offer a supportive, judgment-free environment where you can explore all your options and find what truly works for you.
