What would it be like to be free of the fear once and for all? There is hope. Fear is an emotion of alarm and agitation caused by the expectation or realization of danger. A phobia is an irrational and excessive fear of a specific activity, situation, or object that triggers a compelling desire to avoid that thing. 

Another way of looking at fear and phobias is as an unconscious, automatic response to stimulus stemming from a misperception of said stimulus. Scientists say that only two fears are naturally instinctive: the fear of falling and the fear of sudden loud noises. Everything else is learned. Hypnotherapy works on a subconscious level where the fear and phobia need to be released. When the brain has learned to respond differently to the perceived danger the fear or phobia often disappears and loses its power.

In our session, we will discuss your physical and emotional condition, how is it affecting your everyday life. Then we find out how Hypnotherapy can help you reduce the discomfort. You will be taught tools such as making use of the body mind connection, understanding how our thoughts and feelings can influence our physical health, producing more alpha brainwaves to increase relaxation, positive mood, comfort and reduce anxiety. Sometimes clients may benefit from replacing self doubt and feelings of helplessness with feelings of confidence and empowerment. Sometimes we focus on changing pain beliefs and reducing pain sensations. Studies have shown that 70% of chronic pain patients find their pain and other symptoms are reduced in the short term after hypnotherapy, while up to 30% find that these reductions last permanently.

Past Life Regression

What is past life regression and how does it work?

During a Past Life Regression session, the client is guided to an altered state through deep visualization to the most appropriate time and place so that these may be explored, remembered, and integrated with the present. People come for a Past Life Regression for many reasons. Some come out of curiosity, some have questions about their life purpose, family, work, or health issues. Overall, clients want to better understand why their life has been the way it has, and most importantly, their purpose and how to move forward in the best way possible.

Some clients are comfortable with the idea of reincarnation. For other clients who believe that we live just one life, these experiences are interpreted as remarkable metaphors of the mind, able to teach them powerful lessons about their current challenges. These metaphors can teach them powerful lessons about positivity, unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion, lessons that they can use in their current lives to become emotionally stable, balanced, have more positive thoughts to create more positive energy.

Teens go through a lot in their formative years. They are constantly influenced by social media, news, unrealistic body images, false expectations, comparing themselves with others, etc. which often leaves them feeling insecure and anxious. On top of that, there is school stress, peer pressure, sibling rivalry, parents' stress, or feeling like no one understands them and they don't belong anywhere. 

One way to look at it is that teens are constantly under the influence of their surrounding  environment. Instead of putting teens in hypnosis, I actually "dehypnotize" them using the method of hypnosis. This sounds contradictory, but it is true and it works. By making them aware and taking them out of their constant environmental hypnosis, and using hypnotherapy as a safe relaxation technique, teenagers are allowed to release deep-rooted negative beliefs. The program I developed for teens is tailored toward them. I teach them the relationship between their mind, body and brain. By educating them about not only positive thinking but also accurate thinking, and by showing them how to recognize their subconscious mind and how to effectively engage the subconscious mind to nurture their self worth, they recognize their value and strength. They will be better equipped to take charge of their actions, thoughts and emotions. The skills they learn from my teens program will empower them to develop beneficial coping skills and find their own solutions that can be used throughout a lifetime.

Brainwaves and Hypnosis

To gain a deeper understanding of the power of hypnosis, it is important to learn about the various brainwaves. 

Generally, we address 4 brain wave frequencies (Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta) in hypnotherapy. Each frequency is measured in cycles per second (Hz) and has its own set of characteristics representing a specific level of brain activity and a unique state of consciousness.

This is the normal waking consciousness and reasoning wave. It is associated with a heightened state of alertness, logic, problem solving, and critical reasoning, but also can translate into stress, anxiety, fear and restlessness.

Alpha waves are present in deep physical and mental relaxation, and usually when the eyes are closed. It is sometimes referred to as the idle state of the brain when you are slipping into a daydream or during light meditation. Alpha waves aid overall mental coordination, calmness, alertness, mind/body integration and learning. It is an optimal time to program the mind for success and it also heightens your imagination, visualization, memory, learning and concentration.  

It is the gateway to your subconscious mind and lies at the base of your conscious awareness. The voice of Alpha is your intuition, which becomes clearer and more profound the closer you get to 7.5 Hz. This is an optimal state of hypnotherapy. This is a time when the constant chatter of the Beta state ceases to a large degree and the subconscious mind is open to suggestion.

Theta brain waves are present during deep meditation and deep states of hypnosis. It is the realm of your subconscious and only experienced momentarily as you drift off to sleep from Alpha and wake from the deep sleep (Delta).

Your mind’s most deep-seated programs are at Theta and it is where you experience vivid visualizations, great inspiration, profound creativity and exceptional insight.

It is at the Alpha-Theta border, from 7Hz-8Hz, where the optimal range for visualization and hypnotic reprogramming of your mind begins. It’s the mental state in which you consciously create your reality. At this frequency, you are conscious of your surroundings; however, your body is in deep relaxation. This is the description of what hypnosis is. It isn’t sleep, it isn’t a magic trick, it’s simply a relaxed brainwave state.

The Delta frequency is the slowest of the frequencies and is experienced in deep, dreamless sleep. Delta is the realm of your unconscious mind, and the gateway to the collective unconscious, where information received is otherwise unavailable at the conscious level.

Among many things, deep sleep is important for the healing process – as it’s linked with deep healing and regeneration. When people don’t get enough deep sleep it is detrimental to their health. Once a person is in the Delta state, even though their subconscious mind is very active, hypnosis would not be effective because the person would not be able to hear the suggestions given. This is a time when the subconscious is like a computer sorting, filing, organizing and discarding data.

Ideal Brainwave for Hypnosis

Hypnotherapy is a powerful therapeutic tool that can be used to create profound changes in one’s behavioral or attitudinal patterns. 

While even a light trance (Alpha brain waves) is effective, most hypnotherapists would wish to work with clients experiencing a medium level trance (Theta brain waves). Here the client will be aware of, but not distracted by outside noises. They will be more deeply relaxed and more suggestible than if in a light trance. The very best hypno-therapeutic work can be done when the client is in a deep trance — a somnambulistic trance (High Delta brain waves). In this deep state, the client has the ability to open their eyes without affecting hypnosis. Without affecting hypnosis, selective and illusory sensory perception and the acceptance of complex suggestions occur during a deep hypnotic trance. 

It can also be said that any level of trance - even a light trance - can be effective as long as it allows the client's thought process to be addressed without the constant critical thinking of the conscious mind.
